Phillip and I have decided to go on a trip while I’m in Japan this time~ 

At first we decided on Okinawa since it’s summer and perfect for long days at the beach…  but, when we looked at the flights from Sendai, the prices are ridiculously expensive!  I know that it will be good service and all that but compared with an Australian domestic flight with Jetstar or something, it’s almost 5 times the price! And it’s only one-way.. 

So yeh, that idea went out the window.. and got replaced with:

A week trip to Kyoto! 

The bus there is sooo much cheaper than the flight to Okinawa, but it is a 10 hour night bus… I expect lots of sore bums and all around the body in general!  This plan got scraped though since Phil has work cutting the trip short and plus the hotels are double their normal rate on Obon!  Plus the bus is more expensive too!!

So in the end, we decided to go somewhere nearer instead~ Maybe the next prefecture (Yamagata, Iwate)? Or maybe Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea~~  Anyone got any ideas?

As for now I’ll need to learn how to put on a 浴衣 for the 仙台七夕花火祭 that’s on this Friday!

It’s summer and super hot over here!  Well it’s not as hot as Perth’s 40C but it’s damn humid! I’m hoping my Indonesian-ness will help me survive in the heat~

I want to ride my bicycle

I was having a discussion with Phil last night about what we’re gonna do while I’m over in Japan. 

He reckons it’s best for me to rent/borrow a bicycle.  He rides a bicycle to get to places around Natori so it might be hard for us to go out to places further away from his house together if I don’t have a bike (1 hour walk or so away). Plus it will be summer so we will get super sweaty walking in the heat!
